In this post I discuss the importance of morning exercise and provide a video of a 15 minute gentle yoga flow.
Morning Movement
You've been laying in bed all night. Your body is stiff, your oxygen levels are low, your mind is a little foggy. Spend 15-20 minutes on your mat and all that will change. Just a short morning yoga session will loosen your joints, stretch your muscles, oxygenate your body and clear your mind.
In all the years I've done and taught yoga, I've never known anyone that didn't feel great after being on their mat.
Busy, Busy
Another benefit of morning yoga is all about scheduling. How often have you thought you would work out later in the day, only to have your day get away from you, until the day ends and you realized you never got around to it? Exercising first thing in the day means you can cross if it off your to-do list before your day falls apart.
Habit Stack
Another benefit of yoga is that it gets you in the right headspace for meditation. Pair your 15 minute yoga practice with a 5 minute meditation right after and your day is off to an awesome start!!!!
